What to expect
Environment
The North County Stand Down takes place outdoors, at the Green Oak Ranch. Though we have tents, it can get chilly in the mornings and evenings. We highly recommend wearing layers so you can adjust easily. The area will require some walking in dirt and grass paths. We recommend comfortable closed-toe shoes that you would not mind getting dirty. Be prepared to carry your items with you or leave them in your car. The parking lot is a dirt lot.

Food and Drinks
We have drinks, coffee, meals and snacks available throughout the day. You are welcome to bring your own sack lunch and water bottle if you like. Because of the volume of people, we can not accommodate any dietary restrictions. We receive donations for most of these items so we do not know for certain what items we will have.
Veteran Volunteers
You are welcome to come as both a guest and a volunteer. Register as both. We ask that you finish your shift as planned before visiting the services you would like. Some Veterans opt to be a volunteer one day and a guest the next day.

Eye Glasses
Eyeglasses were made and distributed on site along
with eye exams.

Court Fines Forgiven
Fines cleared for infractions such as loitering, camping, or sleeping in your car. This enables Veterans to get a job and be able to pay for their living expenses.
