VA Healthcare System

Health (Physical and Mental)  –  National League of Cities

VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) will be organizing and managing  the medical care services at this year’s North County San Diego Veterans Stand Down for homeless Veterans.  The VA staff normally provide a wide range of services including basic medical exams, HIV and Tuberculosis testing, skin, foot and dental care, medication needs, and alcohol withdrawal treatment. Usually VASDHS social workers will also be available to provide assessment and referral services, and access to mental health resources, including and addiction specialist and a psychiatrist.
