Our Board
Meet the Board

Matt Foster
Chairman
Matt served 24 years in the Marine Corps, from 1986-2010. He held numerous positions in the Airwing. During his service he traveled to Japan, Korea, Australia, Italy, and Iraq.
I never did anything by myself in the military; I was always part of a team. When I got out, I thought I could do everything myself. It didn’t take too long to figure out that I was wrong. I needed a team and a mission to accomplish. NCVSD is my mission. I’ve got an outstanding team, and I welcome you to join us in helping our veterans. Our Veterans literally signed their lives over to the U.S. government to defend our country. They were trained and motivated to do amazing things while serving our country, much of which was quite dangerous. Many of our brothers and sisters didn’t make it back home. We who did are the lucky ones, but no one comes back home the same. We do this work as a labor of love to restore and empower our Veterans to succeed.

Dave Casey
Vice Chairman and Director of Legal Affairs
Dave has served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years, from 1998-2004. He deployed for OEF and OIF. He is a former Adjutant and Judge Advocate for VFW Post 1513 from 2015-2019. He has been volunteering with NCVSD since 2015.
I joined NCVSD because I wanted to be a part of an organization that actively did something to produce real-world, tangible benefits to the veteran population. Demonstrably making a difference for veterans right there next to me each year makes it all worth it. If you are a Veteran, the event is a great opportunity to get a lot done, or alternatively, get nothing done and just enjoy being in a quiet beautiful valley full of good food, peace, and friends.

Terri Peters
Director of Homeless Court
Terri is super cool

Dan Geisler
Director of Operations
Dan served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and a Vietnam Veteran. He is currently a lifetime member of VFW Post 1513.
NCVSD is a great way to give back and allows me to make a difference in the areas that matter to me. When the men and women who served our country are in need, who do they turn to for a helping hand? The same people they relied on back on the battlefield. The world is not a peaceful place. This is how we can help change that.

Kelly Luisi
Director of Outreach
To our Veterans: I have heard so many stories from many of you. I know it’s hard to seek assistance as you are all selfless and giving of yourselves. When you signed up you made a contract and you met your side of it, now it’s time to receive what you have earned. Our group consists of all Veterans and their amazing families who all work together to support each other. Our event has grown into a wonderful family and you are all welcome to come out and sit with those just like you.

Cody York
Director of IT
Large teams can divide into subteams according to need.

Carrie Foster
Director of Operations
Carrie is a proud wife of Marine Corps Veteran, Matt Foster and a daughter of an Air Force Veteran. She is also very proud to say many of her close friends are Veterans. She started volunteering during the first Stand Down overseeing the showers and has continued to grow in her role.
